One of the best to ever do it in an Auburn uniform has officially closed the book on his college career and is bidding his team, his coaches, and the Auburn fanbase farewell. Fifth-year senior Johni Broome led his team to a Final Four this season and was the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and fans will never forget all that he did for the program.
Broome spent two years at Morehead State before transferring to Auburn for the final three years of his college career. Three amazing years that had Auburn ranked in the top 25 consistently and even ranked No. 1 for the longest time of any other team in the 2024-2025 season. While Broome doesn't have a National Championship on his resume, he still has an SEC regular season title and an SEC tournament title under his belt.

Johni Broome's emotional goodbye on social media will leave every Auburn fan a blubbering mess
Broome took to social media to say goodbye to those who helped him get to this point. He thanked, of course, his friends and family, but he made sure to mention all the people who helped him along the way.
He began by thanking those at Morehead State for shaping him early in his college career to get him to the point of being able to transfer to a program like Auburn. Then, at Auburn, Broome was thankful for the warm welcome he returned and the fanbase that stood by the team through every game.
"To the fans - thank you for packing The Jungle night after night and making Auburn truly feel like home," Broome said in his social media post.
Broome ended his Auburn career with a loss in the Final Four to the eventual National Champion Florida Gators. Broome, in his final season with the Tigers, averaged 18.6 points per game, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks. He won the Pete Newell Big Man Award this past season, as well as the Karl Malone Award. He was also named to the All-SEC First Team for the second time in his career.
At the end of his post, Broome officially announced that he is declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Broome will forever go down as a legend at Auburn and the fans will forever be thankful for all he did for the program.
