In a little over a week, all eyes are going to be on Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football team. A massive road game is on the way against Baylor and the Tigers want to do everything possible to start the year off with a total bang.

We don't have to tell you that there are plenty of Tigers fans who have already written off Freeze as head coach leading up to his crucial Year 3 leading the program. However, On3's Andy Staples doesn't want to hear any of that. Nope, instead he has predicted Auburn to win nine games this year, which will surely get countless people off Freeze's back.

Hugh Freeze winning 9 games this year would get Auburn haters off his back

This is easily a prediction from Staples that Auburn supporters everywhere will gladly sign up for. The first two years of Freeze leading the SEC side have without question not gone to plan. Back in 2023, Auburn went 6-7 and then he followed that up by going 5-7 in 2024.

Sheesh. Yup, that's never going to cut it and people were quick to call for Freeze to get fired after such a disastrous '24 campaign. Moving forward, the pressure is on for Freeze to silence everyone and make sure this team reaches its maximum potential this fall.

Freeze and his staff reloaded in a big way through the transfer portal this past offseason, of course including spending big to bring in Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold. Arnold is starting and all eyes will be on him once the dance with the Baylor Bears arrives.

Throughout camp, Arnold has been a touch inconsistent with the ball in his hands, which of course has been a cause for concern. However, things are expected to change for him once the season-opener arrives. In a perfect world, Auburn will win 9-10 games this year and flirt with a trip to the College Football Playoff.

Another 5-6 win season, though, and it will be lights out for Freeze running the show with the Tigers. Staples, thankfully, doesn't expect things to go down that way. It could be a year to remember for Auburn, which will keep Freeze in town for the long haul.
