Although it's still technically possible for Auburn football to get a bowl game, the season is expected to be over for the Tigers. They finished up their second season under head coach Hugh Freeze 5-7, one less win than last year despite roster improvements.

For many seniors, it's time to turn to the future and focus on getting to the NFL, and as the slogan of the Reese's Senior Bowl goes, the draft starts in Mobile.

The Senior Bowl is held annually in February to show off the best of the best of college football seniors. Players will get to be coached by NFL personnel and meet with teams. There are several days of events leading up to the game, which is played between the American and National teams.

So far, two Auburn football players have accepted their invitations to play in the 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl.

The first is linebacker Eugene Asante, who played three seasons at UNC before transferring to the Plains in 2022. He played the first four games of the season before being relegated to the scout team, but became a fixture of the Auburn defense in 2023 and 2024 under head coach Hugh Freeze. Asante ends his Auburn career with 134 total tackles and 7.5 sacks.

"All I can say is that I have immense gratitude to this university and to this program and to the people who poured into me and believed in me," Asante said of his time on the Plains, per Auburn Rivals. "I sit here, and I am a representation of their belief in me. I try to make them proud in everything I do. Whatever endeavor it may be, I just want to make the Auburn family proud."

The second player to accept his invitation is running back Jarquez Hunter, who rushed for the second-most yards in the SEC this season with 1,201 yards. Hunter spent his entire career on the Plains after committing in the class of 2021, and racked up the fourth-most rushing yards in Auburn history with 3,371 and 7 touchdowns.
