Auburn football’s recruiting this year has been quite impressive. On3 has Hugh Freeze’s 2025 class ranked sixth in the nation, despite the fact that the Tigers are unlikely even to make a bowl game this year. Coach Freeze isn’t done yet, though -- the number 1 JUCO RB in the nation is showing significant interest in Auburn.

Playing out of Hutchinson Community College, Waymond Jordan stands at five-foot-10, 205 pounds, a perfect build for an SEC back. The 3-star has been dominant, accounting for 1,332 yards on the ground and 18 touchdowns in this season alone.

The Pensacola native has fielded offers from teams like USF and North Texas, but he’s recently heard from teams like Arizona State, UCF, Duke, and, of course, Auburn.

Though Jordan has dominated in JUCO, not many Power Four teams have shown much interest, writing the Community College runningback off solely because he’s not played for a Division 1 team yet.

Coach Freeze has a knack for spotting talent in the rough, though it also doesn’t hurt that Jordan is the top-ranked back in JUCO.

Suppose Jordan were to come to play in Jordan-Hare next year. In that case, he’d be vying for a starting spot with two notable players: Damari Alston, who will be a senior for the 2024-25 season and has already played many snaps for the team in prior years, and four-star commit Alvin Henderson.

Whatever the case, Auburn would, at the very least, be a great landing spot for Jordan to develop, as he’d likely get second-team reps and potentially seeing an SEC field, depending on how he develops.

Freeze appears to have a plan for this team, and we’ve no reason to believe he would reach out to Jordan unless he fits into his scheme; only time will tell what we’ll see next season.
