Paul Finebaum is unimpressed with Hugh Freeze and his excuses for why the Auburn Tigers remain winless in the SEC. On Saturday night, AU moved to 0-3 in conference play after a 20-10 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. That game, along with a 24-17 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, was marred by notably horrific SEC officiating that cost Auburn in key moments.

Finebaum doesn't believe that should've defined the entire game for the Tigers to the degree they did.

“You can’t help but look at two games against Oklahoma and this (Georgia) game and go how in the world did Auburn keep getting bad calls, but I’ll tell you it doesn’t matter once the game is over,” Finebaum told Matt Barrie on Sunday.

“Would Auburn had won had they gone up 17-0, which they absolutely should have? I like their chances, but that doesn’t excuse them for not doing anything in the second half.

“(Auburn coach) Hugh Freeze is wearing thin. Some coaches you watch after a loss, you feel better. You feel confident. You feel emboldened. Not Hugh Freeze. You feel the opposite.”

Finebaum spoke about Freeze potentially going 0-6 against the UGA Dawgs and Alabama Crimson Tide by the end of November, claiming that wouldn't cut it for the Auburn family.

“The real problem is if he can’t beat Alabama at home that means in three years, he’s gone 0 for his top two rivals. That doesn’t work well in the Auburn family. Those games mean more than anything," Finebaum said.

At this point, most fans don't want to see Freeze last that long. AU hasn't cut the cord, but a loss to the Missouri Tigers feels like the end of the line. 0-4 in SEC play and a losing record halfway through his third season probably means Freeze isn't the guy for this job.
