Longtime college football radio host Greg Swaim proposed a 24-team Big 12 conference that would include FSU, Clemson, Oregon State, and Wazzu -- plus four other teams poached from the ACC. Swaim included six suggestions.

"Twenty-four teams in the Big 12, with six ACC teams, and WSU and Oregon State? Safety in numbers, entirely too strong to keep out, so after FSU and Clemson who are the last four you want? Card Nation, NCState, The U, VT, GT, and Pitt," Swaim said.

Pitt was a new name here, with Clemson, FSU, Louisville, VA Tech, Miami, and either NC State or GA Tech having previously been floated by Swaim.

FSU not an option for the SEC, but Tallahassee reporter won't rule out Big Ten

The SEC is reportedly out on the Noles, per college football insider Brett McMurphy.

"Three SEC presidents recently told Action Network they had 'no interest' in adding Florida State," McMurphy prefaced before saying, "It takes 12 of the 16 SEC presidents to favor adding another school."

The SEC and Big Ten are out on FSU and the rest of the teams reportedly in contention for a spot in the Big 12.

“If the ACC blows up, who picks first [between the Big Ten and SEC]? Who picks second? If there is a need and desire to expand, you take inventory so your competitors don’t get it," the source prefaced before saying, "But the presidents and chancellors are looking for stability. Despite what the social media geniuses are suggesting, no one — the leagues, the networks — is driving expansion.”

Former Tallahassee Democrat reporter Skip Foster wouldn't rule out the possibility of the Big Ten adding the Noles, though.

"By the way, if there WAS a back-room, handshake deal between FSU and the Big 10, to confirm that publicly would be opening up the conference to a lawsuit," Foster wrote. "There is only one answer if you are a Big10 prez/AD/etc. -- 'nothing to see here.'"

Some say the only way the Big Ten or SEC gets involved in realignment is if Notre Dame decides to stop being an independent.

Stay tuned. There's too many rumors for something not to go down soon.
