Alabama and Auburn football fans could both be excited after Georgia Tech pulled off a massive upset win against FSU in Dublin, Ireland. After all, the Seminoles' roster was filled with transfers from the Crimson Tide.

No FOMO for Alabama fans there. Bammers were happy Nick Saban was finally wrong about something football-related. Saban predicted an FSU win during his College GameDay debut. To his credit, he did also say the Yellow Jackets were a potential sleeper in the ACC. He's still got a finger on the sport's pulse in many ways.

But guys who were once expected to make an impact in Tuscaloosa like WR Malik Benson, RB Roydell Williams, OL TJ Ferguson, CB Earl Little Jr., and LB Shawn Murphy won't be missed by Alabama fans if the Tide are good and FSU underperforms. The latter is an ongoing development with DJ Uiagalelei being a potential disappointment under center for the second time in the ACC.

There's no love lost for Tide fans with a program that staged what The Tampa Bay Times called a "portal raid" on their roster.

As for why Auburn fans would be happy about the Seminoles losing? The 2014 BCS National Championship Game. Duh. Tiger fans don't hold grudges the same way Tide fans do. No one is cheering against Cam Riley.

Nick Saban foresees Auburn football being a surprise riser in the SEC

Saban was right about Georgia Tech being a sleeper. Let's hope he's right about his other predictions. Specifically: what he thinks about Auburn.

“I think Auburn is going to be the most-improved team in the league,” Saban admitted (h/t AL.com). “I really do.”

Of course, Saban also admitted some of his predictions, like Georgia winning the SEC, were intended to be reverse rat poison.

That, or Saban is preparing for the inevitability that his absence means Auburn now has more equity in the state of Alabama's talent pool -- and that will translate to wins on the field at some point.
