Analyst 'as confident ever' that ACC exodus to Big 12, not SEC or B1G, is imminent
All signs point to the Big 12, not the SEC or Big Ten, being the beneficiary of the ACC's imminent implosion.
Greg Swaim, who had long been warning of FSU and Clemson getting their way in court and being admitted to one of the "Power 2" conferences (SEC, B1G) until pivoting to the Big 12 being the one to make a move, said that he's more confident than ever about it.
"Yes, the Big 12 is absolutely going to poach multiple teams from the ACC, and ironically it's been confirmed to me by the exact same source in Chicago who's helped me out with info a year ago that the Four Corners Pac-12 schools would join the Big 12, and he's let me know repeatedly over the years that the B10 will NOT add any non AAU accredited schools," Swaim prefaced before saying, "He also helped me many years ago about the four team B12 exodus, and then their later additions. I'm as confident as I've ever been about the ACC exodus to the B12, but they'll only take between 4-6 schools, so if a school misses out in this round of musical chairs, they're likely left out of the P3, as at that point it's not likely that the remaining ACC teams will have much 'power.'"
Major outlet reporting Big 12 additions of FSU and Clemson
WildcatAuthority's Jason Scheer joined Swaim in reporting that FSU and Clemson would be joining the soon-to-be-renamed Big 12 sometime in the near future.
"According to sources, there is an internal belief in the Big 12 that Florida State and Clemson are likely to join the conference within the next year or so," Scheer wrote.
The winds of realignment started gusting in a much different direction in recent weeks, but Brett Yormark is doing the legwork to make the Big 12 the third King Ghedora head of what'd be a Power 3 -- if the current rumors come to fruition.
