Steph and TJ Brown of the TSP crew dared to take on Cam Newton at a 7 v 7 event sponsored by his C1N organization and have now become famous for having been rag-dolled by the former Auburn football Heisman winner.

While whether or not Newton may have started it is a legitimate question, the two are now the subject of criticism from all comers.

One of those was Deadspin's Carron J. Phillips, who said that either taking aim at Newton was "proof of why (they) deserved to get their a** whooped."

"Sitting on the couch (or in the press box) and believing that you can do, or be better at, what professional athletes accomplish every day is outrageous," Phillips prefaced before saying, "But thinking you can beat up a man who’s arguably the most physically imposing quarterback the NFL has ever seen isn’t just laughable, it’s proof of why you deserved to get your ass whooped."

Analyst says there's 'plenty of reasons' to think Auburn football legend Cam Newton is a 'joke'

Phillips made sure to take aim at Newton too, saying there are "plenty of reasons to make fun of Newton and think he's a joke."

"There are tons of reasons to make fun of Newton and think he’s a joke," Phillips prefaced before saying, "He says stupid things — a lot. He wears weird outfits and hats and looks more like a comic book villain than a former NFL quarterback with his resume. And his views on women are terrible."

Based on a certain misinformed outrage-bait piece directed at a nine-year-old Kansas City Chiefs fan during the NFL season, some might consider Phillips a joke as well.

Newton's response to this incident will be telling after the TSP crew told their side of the story. Either way, C1N needs to focus on not letting this happen again.
