Auburn football stands high in 5-star OT's recruitment
5-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola has a high opinion of the Auburn football program after his visit
Earlier this week, 5-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola made his first trip to the Plains, and the visit went very well. Bablola made the trip from Overland Park, Kansas, to check out one of the Tigers' spring practice sessions. He is ranked as the #15 overall prospect and the #3 OT in the recruiting class of 2025, and is the #1 recruit out of his home state.
The OT said it was a great visit, and he was glad to finally get the chance to see the facilities and spend time with the players and coaches on campus. He had the opportunity to connect with Favour Edwin, an incoming freshman, who is also Nigerian, and he has built a strong relationship with his would-be position coach, offensive line coach Jake Thornton.
"We have a great relationship," Babalola said, per Auburn Rivals. "Ever since he offered me, we’ve just been talking a lot. Seeing his plan and his vision for me if I go to Auburn, I’ve been able to develop a really good relationship with him."
Babalola is considering scheduling an official visit to the Plains, but wants to fully explore all the other programs that are reaching out to him, including several big schools like Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Michigan that are closer to his home state of Kansas. After his first visit, he admitted that Auburn 'stands pretty high' in his recruitment.
The Auburn football program will continue to host visiting recruits throughout the spring practice window, which will end on April 6 with the Tigers' spring scrimmage on A-Day. Auburn football's recruiting class of 2025 is currently made up of 7 commits, and is ranked #8 overall and #3 in the SEC.
