In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a 2025 quarterback target with Auburn football as a finalist sets his commitment date and a Montgomery wide receiver sets a visit to the Plains

Last November, 4-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, from Corona, CA, announced his finalist schools were Louisville, UCLA, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Florida State, Washington, and Ole Miss. The Auburn football program was not on his radar, and vice versa.

Three weeks later, the Tigers offered Longstreet, who is ranked as the #5 QB in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #1 recruit out of the state of California. Earlier this week, Longstreet updated his top eight, and this time, Auburn football made the cut alongside Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and UCLA.

Longstreet is set to visit the Plains during spring practice at the end of this month, and will make his final decision on April 14, according to On3 Sports' Hayes Fawcett.

Montgomery wide receiver sets visit to the Plains

This past Tuesday, Auburn football extended an offer to 3-star Tristan Norman, who played his freshman year at Pike Road but now plays for Carver in Montgomery. The wide receiver used to be an Alabama fan, but after the Cam Newton era he switched over to the good side, and he was excited to receive an offer from the Tigers.

"I was very excited because I’ve been looking for an offer from Auburn for a while now," Norman said, per Auburn Rivals. "I’ve been really invested in school, been there a few times, been to a few games. I will be camping there this year. Even though I have the offer, I will still be camping for Coach (Marcus) Davis, but I was excited."

Though Norman has built up a strong relationship with Auburn wide receivers coach Marcus Davis, the Tigers are getting competition from Kentucky, Duke, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Cal, among others. He will visit the Plains on March 14, and has also set a visit to Vanderbilt the following week.
