In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a 4-star offensive lineman commits to Auburn football and Auburn baseball prepares for a weekend series against Kentucky

The Auburn football program added another commit to the recruiting class of 2025 this week with the commitment of 4-star offensive lineman Carde Smith. From Mobile, Alabama, Smith is ranked as the #23 OL in the class of 2025 and the #16 prospect out of the state.

Smith chose the Tigers over Florida State and Mississippi State and is the tenth commit and fourth offensive lineman in Auburn football's 2025 recruiting class. The OL has developed strong relationships with both head coach Hugh Freeze and offensive line coach Jake Thornton.

"Auburn feels like home," Smith said, per Auburn Rivals. "Me and Coach (Jake) Thornton have a real good relationship. I have been on the Auburn trail since June of last year and they have everything I want and more."

The Tigers' recruiting class of 2025 is ranked #7 overall and #3 in the SEC.

Auburn baseball prepares for a weekend series against Kentucky

After a tough series last weekend against the Tennessee Volunteers and a weekday loss to Alabama State, the Tigers are looking to bounce back against Kentucky, a formidable opponent. The Wildcats head into this series with a 27-5 overall record and an 11-1 SEC record.

With only two wins in the first four weekends, head coach Butch Thompson told Auburn Undercover that it's time for things to change and everyone needs to step up.

"I think whenever you struggle or you're challenged, we all know the narrative of what we've faced these first four weeks," Thompson said. "I think the messaging, we're trying to be a little more stern now. We've had to do this before. Meeting things head on is how you handle things. I don't think there's another way. It's my responsibility, but we need some players to take that ownership as well and get conviction."

Auburn baseball will face off against Kentucky three times, on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m.
