In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a 4-star quarterback from out west will make his final decision soon and Auburn football announces the A-Day MVPs

4-star quarterback Husan Longstreet made the trek from Corona, California, to the Plains this weekend for the Tigers' spring scrimmage. It was his second trip to Auburn's campus, and the final visit he will take before making his commitment decision in one week.

Longstreet, ranked as the #5 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #2 player out of California, has set his commitment date for April 14. He will choose between Auburn football, Texas A&M, Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Louisville, and Ole Miss.

The thing that matters most to Longstreet in his decision is development, and so far he has been very impressed with the Tigers' coaching staff.

"The way Coach Jesse (Stone), Coach (Kent) Austin, Coach Freeze can develop their quarterbacks," Longstreet said, per Auburn Rivals. "They bring in great pieces around them. They did it at Ole Miss. They did it at Liberty. They’re doing it now."

Auburn football announces the A-Day MVPs

Spring practice is officially over after the A-Day game this past weekend, and the game ended with the offense beating the defense by one point, a 28-27 final score. Many of the Tigers' true freshmen were on display in Jordan-Hare, and a group of transfers played in front of Auburn football fans for the first time.

Each of the Tigers' MVPs from the spring game were newcomers, one transfer and two freshmen. For the defense, the MVP was former Texas defensive back Jerrin Thompson. He recorded a sack and three tackles during the scrimmage.

For the offense, the MVP was freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman, who scored the offense's only touchdown in the game. He racked up 92 yards on four catches, including a 49-yard throw from Hank Brown.

And the special teams MVP could go to none other than true freshman kicker Towns McGough, who kicked seven field goals — earning 21 of the offense's 28 points — and made a 58-yard kick to win the game.
