In today's edition of Auburn Tigers news, another Auburn football player has accepted an invitation to the NFL Combine and the program has hired a general manager
Earlier today, the Auburn football program added a fourth former player to the list of those attending the 2024 NFL Combine, which takes place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 26 to March 4.
Former Auburn defensive lineman Justin Rogers has accepted his invitation to attend the event, which is essentially an intensive job interview for a place on an NFL team next season. Top executives, coaching staffs, and other NFL personnel will be onsite to evaluate the hundreds of NFL hopefuls.
Rogers spent one season on the Plains after three years at Kentucky, and recorded 17 total tackles and one sack as a starter for Auburn football. He will join defensive backs Jaylin Simpson, Nehemiah Pritchett, and DJ James at the NFL Combine next month.
Auburn football hires general manager away from LSU
Head coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football program have made another big addition to the second-year coaching staff. It was announced this morning that the Tigers will bring on Will Redmond, former Director of Player Personnel for LSU, as the team's general manager.
According to Football Scoop, Redmond was the mastermind behind LSU's recruiting and roster overhaul after Brian Kelly became LSU's head coach, and he was the lead scout in Jayden Daniels' recruitment to the Bayou. He was a key factor in LSU's success after bringing on Kelly.
Redmond is a talented staffer who will add a lot to the coaching staff on the Plains, especially with recruiting being a top priority for Freeze. Prior to his time at LSU, Redmond held the same role at Western Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, and Kansas.
