The Auburn baseball team got a big win last night over the Georgia Tech, completing a sweep over the Yellow Jackets in midweek games. The 7-2 victory was fueld by homeruns from Eric Guevara, Cooper Weiss, and Cade Belyeu. The Tigers also recorded five defensive runs saved, and Chris Stanfield robbed a two-run homerun from over the centerfield wall.

"It's an offensive ballpark," Thompson said, per Auburn Undercover. "They hit the home runs early and we hit some late. We caught some of theirs. It was going to be an offensive line, so 7-2 is a great score for us against them and throwing all of those guys.

Auburn baseball will return to action this weekend when they travel to Missouri to take on the Tigers in a three-game weekend series.

Hugh Freeze talks about the future of NIL

The landscape of college football has been changing rapidly over the past few years, with rules regarding Name, Image, and Likeness, or NIL, as one of the driving factors. The rules are constantly changing and evolving, and money has become a big factor in the recruitment of college athletes.

The NCAA Transfer Portal has also contributed to the changes, making it easier than ever before for players to transfer to new programs with minimal penalties. Things will continue to change for the time being as the governing bodies that be try to regulate the mess they've made.

When it comes to NIL and the transfer portal, Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze would like to see more accountability for the players, per AL.com.

“I’ve said publicly: You need to bring it to campus, and sign them to a contract just like I sign a contract,” Freeze said Wednesday morning talking to local reporters at the Regions Tradition Pro-Am in Birmingham. “If they want a one-year contract, great. If they want a two-year contract, great. But once you sign it, just like if I leave Auburn, somebody’s got to pay Auburn money. And it should be the same way in my opinion. I think that would bring a lot more sanity to it.”
