In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, newcomers to Auburn basketball have received their jersey numbers and a former Auburn football wide receiver reveals transfer destination

While more additions are likely coming to the Auburn basketball roster, the Tigers have added three new players so far during the offseason in Furman transfer JP Pegues and incoming freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jakhi Howard.

Pegues brings in three years of experience and was ranked as the #13 point guard in the transfer portal. He is expected to fill some of the gaps left by Aden Holloway and Tre Donaldson, and he will wear #1.

5-star guard Tahaad Pettiford, ranked as the #2 point guard in the class of 2024, committed to the Tigers in November of last year and is a highly anticipated addition to Bruce Pearl's squad. He will follow in KD Johnson's footsteps and wear #0.

4-star forward Jakhi Howard, who was called 'one of the most athletically explosive players in the class of 2024' by 247 Sports' Eric Bossi, will wear #3.

Returning shooting guard Denver Jones will switch from #12 to #2, which was formerly Jaylin Williams' number.

Former Auburn football wide receiver reveals transfer destination

Another former Auburn football wide receiver has officially transferred to another program. Ja'Varrius Johnson announced on Twitter through On3 Sports' Hayes Fawcett that he has committed to UCF and will reunite with former Auburn football head coach Gus Malzahn.

Johnson, a 4-star WR out of high school, signed on with the Tigers as a member of the class of 2019. He stuck it out on the Plains through Malzahn, Bryan Harsin, and Hugh Freeze, and will spend his last year of eligibility playing for his first head coach.

Over his five-year career with Auburn football, Johnson racked up 1,114 receiving yards and eight touchdowns with an additional 83 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
