In today's edition of Auburn Tigers news, Bruce Pearl reacts to his squad's second straight loss and a 4-star QB from the recruiting class of 2025 is high on Auburn football.

It's been a tough stretch on the road for the Auburn Tigers, who have dropped their last two games against SEC opponents. Earlier this week, the Tigers raced back from a 14-point deficit against rival Alabama only to come up short in the end. Then, Auburn basketball had a dreadful game against Mississippi State where they were simply outplayed for the majority of the contest.

Bruce Pearl was not happy with his team's performance and noted that while Mississippi State played a good game, the Tigers were having major trouble with shooting the ball, per Auburn Live:

"I’ve got some guys that are struggling to shoot the ball and they just need to stop, just need to stop shooting if they can’t make it," said Pearl. "As a result, the ball will move and maybe we have a chance to get him more than seven shots, but we can’t because the ball is just getting chucked up there."

The Tigers will have a chance to redeem themselves when they return home to Neville Arena this week to host Vanderbilt on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. central.

4-star QB is high on Auburn football

Meanwhile, the Auburn football program continues to work on building relationships with recruits from the class of 2025, including a 4-star quarterback who has a high interest in the Tigers. Earlier this month, TJ Lateef put Auburn in his top seven schools alongside Colorado, Florida State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arizona, and Georgia.

From Orange, California, Lateef is ranked as the #21 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2025 and is the #22 recruit out of the state of California. While he is still working on solidifying his relationships with the Tigers' coaching staff, Auburn's recruiting class of 2024 impressed the QB enough to want to learn more about Auburn football. He intends to visit the Plains after the dead period, maybe sometime in March.
