In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, former running backs coach Cadillac Williams takes a job in the NFL and Bruce Pearl reacts to Auburn basketball's massive loss to Kentucky

The Auburn family received shocking news earlier this year when it was announced that Carnell "Cadillac" Williams would be parting ways with Auburn football. He stepped down from his position as associate head coach and running backs coach in early January.

News broke over the weekend that Williams is expected to be hired by the Las Vegas Raiders as their running backs coach after their initial target, DeShaun Foster, was promoted to head coach of UCLA following Chip Kelly's move to Ohio State.

Williams, a former Auburn football player himself, was hired by Gus Malzahn in 2019 to be the Tigers' running back coach and has been on the Plains ever since.

It was a tough weekend for the Tigers. After all the fanfare of Pearlville/Jungleville and the festivities surrounding College GameDay, Auburn basketball failed to get a win and instead the team was massively blown out by Kentucky.

The Wildcats were in control for the entire game and shots just would not fall for Auburn. Tre Donaldson was forced to sit for a lot of the matchup due to 3 early fouls and Jaylin Williams had to miss half the second quarter due to a knee injury that will keep him out of the next few games.

"Kentucky can guard and they can turn it up when they want to," Pearl said, per Auburn Daily. "They outplayed us tonight, they played really well. We knew their guards were excellent and late in the game when it came down to getting decent shots and keeping us at bay, they were able to do that."

The Tigers will have time to rest without a midweek game, but will hit the road this weekend to take on Georgia in Athens.
