In today's edition of Auburn Tigers news, the football program has found its next defensive line coach, and Auburn hoops evens the series against Alabama

After the unexpected loss of defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett to the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, the Auburn football program has decided on his replacement. Former defensive line assistant Vontrell King-Williams has been promoted to defensive line coach.

Prior to arriving on the Plains in 2023, King-Williams worked as a graduate assistant at Liberty for two seasons before coaching defensive lineman at Eastern Michigan in 2022. His new position at Auburn will be his first big time role, but Jeremy Garrett believes he's ready for it, per Auburn Undercover:

“Vontrell is awesome," Garrett said when asked about King-Williams last fall. "When I came from the Browns to go to Liberty, he was actually my GA for two weeks before he got the job at Eastern Michigan. He’s a really good coach. He’s a smart coach. He’s a really good teacher. He knows the players and gets to know those guys well. I just think what he’s going to bring to the table, it’s going to be a dynamic duo in recruiting and teaching these guys.”

Auburn hoops evens the series against Alabama

In epic fashion, the Auburn basketball team got their revenge against Alabama last night in Neville Arena. The Tigers put up 99 points to the Tide's 81, closing out with high energy in front of the rowdy Jungle and special members of the Auburn family like Derick Hall and Charles Barkley.

Highlights of the game include Jaylin Williams' incredible windmill dunk, big man Johni Broome's work on the inside, and a record-breaking amount of free throws. Williams and Broome combined for more than half of Auburn's 99 points, and the Tigers totaled 12 blocks by the end of the final buzzer.

The whole Auburn basketball team knew this game was personal heading into it, and they played an outstanding game in front of the home court to get back at rival Alabama.
