In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, the Tigers pick up the commitment of a transfer DT from Kansas, and Josh Pate predicts a big early signing day for Auburn

Over the weekend, the Auburn Tigers picked up their second transfer commitment of the open portal window. Former Kansas defensive tackle Gage Keys made his way to the Plains for a visit this weekend, and announced his pledge to Auburn football before leaving.

According to Auburn Undercover, 2023 was Keys' breakout season, and he was third on the team in quarterback pressures and played the seventh-most snaps of any defensive player for the Jayhawks. He will likely make an early impact for the Tigers in 2024.

Josh Pate predicts an active Early Signing Day for the Auburn Tigers

The Early Signing Period is coming up, beginning on December 20 and lasting through December 22, but with most players signing on day one of the period, December 20 is referred to as Early Signing Day, and Josh Pate expects the Auburn football program to have a busy day this Wednesday, per 247 Sports:

"I don't think Auburn is going to be quiet on National Signing Day at all," Pate said. "One way or another, they're about to make some noise. Auburn has way too many needs, and there's way too much desperation down there. They're way too good of a recruiting staff for them to be quiet and sit idly by on Signing Day."

Several recruits could potentially commit and sign with the Tigers this week, including a pair of Florida commits (LJ McCray and Amaris Williams) and the uncommitted Coen Echols, who is potentially leaning towards LSU at this point. Though KJ Bolden told reporters he fully intends to sign with Florida State on Wednesday, there could always be a surprise from the #1 safety in the 2024 class.

It's set to be a dramatic signing day, and stay tuned to Fly War Eagle for all the recruiting news.
