In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, wide receiver transfer KeAndre Lambert-Smith says Payton Thorne gives him hope for the passing game and Auburn baseball adds another transfer to the roster

Former Penn State wide receiveer KeAndre Lambert-Smith is one of the top transfers the Auburn football team brought in during the offseason. With four seasons of experience under his belt, Lambert-Smith brings capable talent and a veteran presence to a position group with plenty of young guys.

Lambert-Smith was asked about what gives him hope that the passing game will take off this season for the Tigers, and his answer revolved around returning quarterback Payton Thorne.

“I would say Payton (Thorne). I kind of block out the noise–I know the media is the media. Number one, Payton came from the BigTen, he beat me at Penn State already. So, just being around him, hearing how he controls the team at the end of a workout, the leadership, I think that gives the offense a sense of confidence right there," said Lambert-Smith, per Auburn Live. "I know just the difference in how that can make an offense feel. I felt different when I heard him talking. Then, just how he hits me up, ‘Let’s go work out, let’s get these routes, let’s hit the field.’ I just feel like everybody is practicing with the intent that this narrative is going to change."

Auburn baseball adds another transfer to the roster

The Auburn baseball program has been just as busy in the transfer portal this offseason as the Auburn football program has been. Over the weekend, head coach Butch Thompson and Co. added another transfer to the group in former Florida pitcher Cade Fisher.

Fisher just finished his second season with the Gators, appearing in 26 games and earning nine starts. He totaled 76 strikeouts and had a 4-3 record. Auburn Live reports that it is a significant get for Thompson and the Tigers, and that heading into the weekend Fisher was considered to be the top player remaining in the transfer portal.

He is the eighth transfer addition to Auburn baseball this offseason.
