In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, gymnast Suni Lee will compete in her second Olympics and Auburn baseball adds another transfer

Former Auburn gymnast and defending gold medalist Suni Lee will compete in the Olympics again. Lee secured her spot after finishing second all-around at the USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials in Minneapolis over the weekend.

Lee spent two seasons on the Plains competing with Auburn gymnastics and finished as a 10-time All-American in addition to winning an NCAA title on beam and an SEC title on bars.

“After all the adversity that Suni has been through, it’s just so exciting and relieving to see her achieve her dream of going back to the Olympics,” Auburn head coach Jeff Graba said, per Auburn Athletics. “It’s been a wild ride these last three years and we can’t wait to root for her at another Olympic games!

Lee will join Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezley Rivera on Team USA. Women's gymnastics at the Paris Olympics kicks off on July 28.

Auburn baseball adds another transfer

Auburn baseball head coach Butch Thompson has been cooking in the transfer portal during this offseason, and the Tigers added another player to their roster over the weekend. On Sunday, former Texas A&M infielder Jett Johnston announced his commitment to the Auburn Tigers on his personal social media.

As a freshman in the 2024 season, Johnston was primarily a reserve infielder and appeared in 13 games with 16 at-bats. He recorded three hits and two RBIs as well as five walks and five scored runs.

The former Aggie is the eighth transfer to join the Tigers this offseason joining Lucas Steele (Samford), Eric Snow (USF), Andrew Dutton (Birmingham Southern), Bristol Carter (East Carolina), Sam Dutton (LSU), Ryan Hetzler (Cal-Baptist), and Mason Koch (Creighton).
