In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a defensive back transfer from Toledo is nearing his commitment decision and a fourth Auburn football player has accepted his Senior Bowl invitation

Former Toledo defensive back RJ Delancy III took an official visit this week to check out the Auburn football program. The DB played his first year of college football with Nebraska after signing with the Huskers, but transferred to Toledo for the 2021-2023 seasons.

After three seasons as a Rocket, Delancy totalled 62 tackles, two interceptions, 16 passes deflected, and one forced fumble. He enjoyed his visit on the Plains, emphasizing how important relationships are, per Auburn Rivals:

"The visit was great, I was with coaches Reed and Zac (Etheridge), those guys are great around here," Delancy said. "I really like the campus and the coaches. It’s great relationships here."

Delancy will visit both Memphis and Wisconsin this weekend and then plans to wrap things up with a decision. According to the DB, the Tigers definitely have a shot.

Fourth Auburn football player accepts Senior Bowl invitation

The Auburn Tigers are set to be well-represented at this year's Reese's Senior Bowl, the annual college senior all-star game played in Mobile, AL, on the campus of the University of South Alabama. A trio of Auburn defensive backs have already accepted their invitations: Jaylin Simpson, DJ James, and Nehemiah Pritchett.

The game—which will be broadcast on the NFL Network—is set for February 3, and is widely considered to be one of the most important steps in preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft. The Tigers' four senior bowl representatives will be the most from the Plains since 2018 when five Auburn football players participated in the game. Last year, edge rushers Derick Hall and Eku Leota played in the senior bowl.
