In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Auburn football wide receiver Jay Fair enters the transfer portal and former Auburn basketball guard Aden Holloway commits to Alabama

A second Auburn football portal has officially entered the transfer portal. Wide receiver Jay Fair's departure from the program was announced Saturday morning. Fair, a 3-star prospect out of high school, committed to the Tigers in the recruiting class of 2022.

After two seasons on the Plains, Fair racked up 358 yards on 38 receptions and two touchdowns. Fair has a lot of potential but struggled at the end of last season. With the new receiver group taking shape, Fair was likely to be pretty far down the depth chart, so it isn't shocking he will be looking to explore other options.

Former Auburn basketball guard Aden Holloway commits to Alabama

While on a visit to Tuscaloosa, former Auburn basketball guard Aden Holloway announced his commitment to Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide. A McDonald's All American and a 5-star recruit out of high school, Holloway played just one season at Auburn under Bruce Pearl.

Though he started off the season hot from behind the arc, his contributions faded over the season and almost sputtered out at times, especially once SEC play began. He entered the transfer portal on April 9 and visited no other schools before committing to the Tide.

In the 2023-24 season, Holloway averaged 7.3 points on 31.8 percent shooting and 2.7 assists in 20.2 minutes per game. He started nearly 30 games but spent a lot of time rotating with Tre Donaldson, who also entered the transfer portal.

The Tigers will be returning seniors Johni Broome, Dylan Cardwell, and Chris Moore alongside Chad Baker-Mazara and Denver Jones. New additions will include Furman transfer guard JP Pegues and incoming freshman Tahaad Pettiford.
