BREAKING: Auburn football lands 4-star cornerback Blake Woodby
Auburn football adds a top cornerback in the 2025 class to next year's roster with the commitment of Blake Woodby
So far, Big Cat Weekend has been action packed. The Auburn football program managed to lock down a trio of recruits in the class of 2026 before getting a huge announcement from one of the top cornerbacks in the recruiting class of 2025.
Just after lunch on Saturday, 4-star cornerback Blake Woodby announced his commitment to the Tigers. From Baltimore, Woodby is ranked as the #11 cornerback in his recruiting class and the #3 recruit out of the state of Maryland.
Woodby was previously committed to Ohio State, announcing his pledge to the Buckeyes last October. However, he decommitted on the same day he received an offer from Auburn football and took multiple trips to the Plains this summer before Big Cat Weekend. One of those visits was to attend a camp with his high school teammate Bryce Deas, who ended up committing to the Tigers shortly after. Now the pair will continue as teammates at the collegiate level.
For Woodby, the relationships he has built with multiple Auburn coaches helped seal the deal.
"It's just the coaches being as genuine as possible," Woodby told Auburn Undercover. "I'm a relationship guy so being able to be around Coach Crime and Coach Kelly and Coach Freeze, they brought that family aspect towards a kid they didn't know if they were going to get or not. It's definitely a good feeling knowing that they recruit in good faith and always honest and transparent with me."
Woodby is the 17th commit in the Auburn football recruiting class of 2025, and he is the third cornerback commit after Devin Williams, Donovan Starr, and Dante Core. The Tigers' class of 2025 is currently ranked #12 overall.
