Today Auburn football edge target CJ May will make his final commitment decision

Today is the day for 4-star edge rusher CJ May. From Highland Home, Alabama, May is ranked as the #25 edge in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #16 prospect out of the state. He shares a high school and hometown with current Auburn defensive end Keldric Faulk, and they were teammates before Faulk graduated.

May has narrowed his list of finalists down to four and will choose between Auburn, Louisville, Syracuse, and Washington. His commitment will be shown live on the 247 Sports YouTube channel at 1:30 p.m. central time.

The edge originally committed to Notre Dame last year, but walked back his pledge to the Fighting Irish in early February to reopen his recruitment after receiving significant interest from other programs, including Georgia and Auburn.

In his junior season, 247 Sports reports that May racked up 54 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He also hauled in one interception and scored one touchdown. Earlier this month, Auburn Undercover's Christian Clemente labeled May as a 'cold' target for the Tigers, and May's Crystal Ball predicts he will land at Louisville.

It seems to be the case that the Auburn football coaching staff are trying to catch bigger fish for the defensive line position, with the current top target appearing to be 4-star Walter Mathis Jr., who officially visited last month.

The Tigers currently have 16 commits in their recruiting class of 2025, which is ranked #13 nationally and seventh in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Missouri. May would be the fourth defensive line commit to join the class alongside Malik Autry, Jakaleb Faulk, and Jourdin Crawford.

Tune into the 247 Sports YouTube channel at 1:30 p.m. central time to see where CJ May commits.
