Ex-Auburn football RB endorses statement crediting Bo Nix for being the only reason Harsin wasn't immediately fired
Former Tigers running back Shaun Shivers endorsed a statement crediting 2021 starting QB Bo Nix for being the reason why Bryan Harsin lasted more than a single season with the Auburn football program.
"The game that Bo Nix picked up the Infinity Gauntlet and said 'I'll do it myself,'" one X user wrote with an accompanying video of Nix highlights from the 2021 Auburn-LSU matchup from Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. "Auburn breaks the curse of Death Valley, prompting LSU boosters to fire Ed Orgeron two weeks later. Bo Nix was the only reason Bryan Harsin lasted longer than a single season at Auburn."
Shivers simply quote-tweeted it and said "Bo Nix" with an accompanying goat emoji.
Shivers had five catches for 38 yards against the Tigers during that 24-19 win in Death Valley; the first win at LSU for Auburn since 1999. Nix had 329 all-purpose yards, a passing touchdown, and a rushing touchdown that night.
Bryan Harsin still complaining about 2021 Auburn football season
Harsin is still not over the COVID-19 recruiting restrictions that he believes derailed his first season on the Plains when his first Auburn recruiting class ended with a lower rank than any in the Gus Malzahn era.
The Boise native took to X on August 8 to respond to Clay Travis downplaying the COVID-19 virus after Noah Lyles won a bronze medal during the 200m dash.
"We refused common sense & decency & instead just made up rules that negatively affected people," Harsin said in response to Travis. "We shamed & persecuted those that didn’t comply. Now we all get to see how ridiculously that time was managed."
Harsin, of course, didn't even pick up the phone or went on Zoom calls with local Alabama coaches, which was allowed. His failures are solely on himself.
