It's looking more likely every day that Auburn football will flip quarterback Deuce Knight from Notre Dame

Recruiting a quarterback in the class of 2025 has been and continues to be a long process for the Auburn football program. At one point, it seemed the Tigers were all in on 5-star USC commit Julian "Juju" Lewis, but after his visit to the Plains the buzz surrounding the Georgia QB died down, and Auburn looked into flipping KJ Lacey from Texas.

Over the summer, it seems that Auburn football has gone all in on trying to get 5-star quarterback Deuce Knight to flip from Notre Dame. Knight has been committed to the Fighting Irish since September of last year and had been a vocal recruiter for the team up until this summer.

Knight made a low-key visit to Auburn's campus during Big Cat Weekend after much of the festivities had already taken place, and then things quieted down a bit when he didn't flip. Earlier this month, Steve Wiltfong put in a prediction with On3 Sports that Knight would end up with the Tigers, and today Auburn Live's Jeffrey Lee put in a prediction of his own.

The QB has scheduled a return visit to the Plains with his family for the season opener on August 31 against Alabama A&M. Knight is hoping to wrap up his recruitment soon, but clearly would like to see the Tigers in a game before making that call, according to Athlon Sports.

“Knight informed 247Sports that he'd be at Auburn for the Tigers' season opener Aug. 31 against Alabama A&M.

“From what we've gathered, the reason behind the trip is to see Auburn in action. He's seen all he needs from Notre Dame and Ole Miss. He wants to make a decision, one way or another, in the next few weeks.”

Earlier this week, Ryan Ghea told the media that he talks to Knight very frequently and is recruiting him hard, hoping to flip the QB before the season starts. Still, we may not land Knight before his August 31 visit.
