Not only did Bo Wallace just throw Hugh Freeze under the bus, he drove it too
Bo Wallace doesn't appreciate Hugh Freeze's tendencies of throwing QBs under the bus time and again to explain his failures at Ole Miss, Liberty, and Auburn. Freeze's former QB1 at Ole Miss made that clear in a long Twitter rant following AU's 24-14 loss to Arkansas on September 21 -- right after Freeze claimed Auburn had "miserable" play at the position against the Hogs.
"We’re approaching the point that he’s thrown so many QBs under the bus, that maybe no one wants to play for him?? His offense helped me tremendously put numbers up when I blew my shoulder out…. But why is it someone else’s fault every time there’s a loss ?? … but when there’s a win I watch the press conferences just to count how many times the word 'I' is used… appreciate what he did for me, my son wouldn’t be playing for him tho," Wallace wrote.
"...But that dude has never helped me a day in his life…. It was always only about getting a win for him so he could collect his extra 100 racks a win. If y’all knew the medications and shots I was taking to get that man his money you wouldn’t believe they would let you walk on a field like that. And with all that, I still feel the tires from the bus."
"Do your research on his offenses, excluding his time at liberty, look at the interceptions every QB he’s had play for him throws, at some point when it happens over and over every year…. You look in the mirror, not at the players to save face," Wallace concluded.
Bo Wallace claims Hugh Freeze hasn't helped him once since being at Ole Miss together
Wallace didn't mince any words while speaking on not just Freeze's offense, but who the Oxford, Mississippi native is as a person.
Wallace claimed Freeze has not helped him once since the two parted ways.
"I probably will be too, I won’t notice tho… all the guy did was break my body in half and I played every game getting a numbing shot just to go get him his money …. Then I graduate and can’t do anything to benefit him ….. and he hasn’t helped me ONE TIME!!! That’s the truth about who Hugh Freeze is," Wallace wrote in a separate tweet.
Freeze is under fire from all sides. He would've never unearthed Wallace's disdain for him had he
not scorched Hank Brown and Payton Thorne for scoring just 14 points against Arkansas's pushover defense.
Freeze doesn't seem to be the most popular player-coach out there. That makes two such polarizing personalities in charge since Gus Malzahn was fired in 2020.
