Perhaps FSU could join the SEC after all, with radio host Greg Swaim reporting that Brett Yormark may not want to deal with the headaches the Noles would bring to the Big 12 in the wake of recent rumors Florida State and Clemson could be Big 12-bound in the next year.

"FSU getting a horrible national reputation, as is well documented, but perhaps with the Big 12 just losing two of the most entitled fan bases in college football, and adding another this year (Utes), does Yormark really want to add another overentitled mouth to feed with a lot of financial and legal baggage? Getting the feeling the answer may be getting closer to no," Swaim said.

As previously reported by college football insider Brett McMurphy, three schools have presidents opposed to adding the Noles in realignment.

"Three SEC presidents recently told Action Network they had 'no interest' in adding Florida State," McMurphy prefaced before saying, "It takes 12 of the 16 SEC presidents to favor adding another school."

Greg Sankey takes shot at FSU at SEC media days

From culture and competition standpoints, the SEC always made the most sense for FSU. Initially, the Noles were linked to the "It Just Means More" conference, but the rumor mill shifted to the Big Ten until the recent Big 12 rumor.

So, we're back at square one: no clue where FSU will be if/when they can break the ACC's Grant of Rights agreement. That will be made public as per their lawsuit with the conference.

While it's not a shut door to the Noles, Greg Sankey sent a message that could be seen as opposition to FSU for their behavior during the 2023 season when they weren't selected for the College Football Playoff field despite an undefeated conference championship season.

"Georgia was one of the best four teams (in the nation) and didn't get in (the Playoff," Sankey said (h/t Saturday Down South's Matt Hayes). "But you didn't see us jumping up and down and complaining and hanging national championship banners."

FSU is having a tough time finding a home. It seems like one reason that is is Sankey doesn't seem to have his door open to the Seminoles, per previous reports from Swaim.
