There was a difference in reporting on August 1 as to whether or not Bo Nix was effective in the midst of a Denver Broncos quarterback competition fellow Auburn football alum Jarrett Stidham is gaining ground in.

KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM Colorado's Ryan Edwards shared that Nix had a strong day.

"Another strong day from Bo Nix, especially during team drills," Edwards wrote on X. "Very decisive, quick decisions…seems like he’s reading the defense better and things might be slowing down a bit for him. He worked with the 3s today but won the majority of those reps in Red Zone and 3rd down."

His co-worker Benjamin Allbright disagreed, though.

"Ryan and I differ on that," Allbright prefaced before saying, "I didn't think Bo was that good against the 3s. He had some good throws but it wasn't overall a great day. You'd have charted 3 INTs (2 dropped) and the ball was behind the receiver too often."

Why is it important to know how Nix is doing? Well, despite being the heavy favorite to win the Broncos' QB competition, Nix has seen a push from Stidham, who performed well with the 1s in late July. Though Stidham is a career journeyman, he has what Nix doesn't: NFL experience. He can't be completely counted out just yet.

Especially since sportsbooks like to make a pretty penny after the public is led to believe something so heavily for so long.

Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham have pushed Zach Wilson out of Broncos QB competition

Zach Wilson, meanwhile, has fallen completely behind and may already be Sean Payton's QB3. QB3s typically don't have guaranteed jobs, or a willingness to be buried on the depth chart, for long, especially a season after being QB1 elsewhere.

Wilson struggled with the NY Jets for nearly the entirety of his three-year tenure in New York and New Jersey. It's unclear what team would give him a chance this close to the season, but injuries can open up the door for him. Of course, that's true in Denver as long as he's there.
