Head coaches often give coach-speak explanations about whether or not they have wandering eyes. Florida Gators head coach Todd Golden may have given one of those, unless building a legacy in Gainesville is important to him.

Elsewhere, Kentucky Wildcats legend Anthony Davis's name came up in the most explosive trade rumor of the NBA's offseason.

Here were some of the SEC's hardwood headlines from the weekend:

Todd Golden has no plans of leaving Florida, so he says

Golden told On3's Joe Tipton that he and his staff are in a "really good spot at Florida" when the reporter asked if he'd ever pull a Dusty May and leave his team for the NBA. May won a national championship with the Michigan Wolverines in March and then recently took a head coaching job with the Dallas Mavericks.

"I'm going to enjoy being at Florida for a while," Golden told Tipton. Does that actually confirm anything? Absolutely not.

Golden is a strong offer away from a school like Michigan away from taking another job. Ditto for the NBA, though that is always a tougher jump from a collegiate head coach who enjoys what he has in a college setting.

Golden's buyout money was too rich for the North Carolina Tar Heels before they went with Michael Malone, but it decreases by another $5 million after this coming season. The jump after the 2027-28 season is a $7 million decrease, all the way down to just $4 million. Someone will eventually find the right number to force Florida's hand and either overpay to keep him -- if Golden doesn't win more titles and justify it, of course -- or let him make the jump.

Pistons land ex-Hog from Thunder, Al Horford re-signs with Warriors

Warriors plotting to team Anthony Davis up with LeBron and Steph Curry

Sunday night saw a preposterous rumor from the NBA world, courtesy of Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor: the Golden State Warriors are actively looking to trade for AD from the Washington Wizards before signing LeBron James in free agency.

"The Warriors are attempting to trade for Wizards big Anthony Davis and then sign Lakers free-agent forward LeBron James, according to multiple league sources," O'Connor wrote. "A trade for Davis would have to include Jimmy Butler, who is on an expiring $57 million contract while recovering from a torn ACL. The Warriors would also have to include draft capital — they have two future firsts and four first-round swaps to work with in any deal.

"Sources say the Warriors hope adding Davis would help lure LeBron from Los Angeles to the Bay Area once free agency officially opens Tuesday. The pitch would be simple: reunite with AD, team up with Steph Curry and Draymond Green, play for Steve Kerr, and chase one more championship with a roster of legends."

This sounds too far-fetched to happen, but most would've said that about Kevin Durant joining the Dubs during the 2016 NBA free agency period. Fireworks are always possible in the Association. Even still, it feels like a 2K scenario to team half of the all-time Golden State core with the two men who helped lead the Los Angeles Lakers to the 2020 NBA Championship. The Warriors don't have much money to offer James, which could be the deal-breaker to this mega proposal.
