The interior trenches were all the rage on the recruiting trail on Monday, with the Missouri Tigers and Nebraska Cornhuskers picking up the biggest wins. In addition, several decision dates were set for thus-far undecided recruits.
After a major recruiting weekend, Monday continued the momentum as the sport enters a recruiting dead period.
Here were the biggest headlines from the gridiron around the SEC to kick off the week:
Missouri nabs 4-star Kansas City OG over Nebraska and Iowa
Mizzou nabbed 4-star St. Pius X guard Kyler Kuhn, who chose his home-state Tigers over the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Iowa Hawkeyes. Missouri assistant Brandon Jones was Kuhn's primary recruiter.
On the same day of a flip of 4-star St. Mary's RB Kingston Miles from the Auburn Tigers, Mizzou got a guard for him to run between with the Kuhn acquisition. Eli Drinkwitz's squad is now in the top 25 in 247Sports' composite team rankings as of this writing.
Cornhuskers keep Nebraska IOL home, away from Iowa and Tennessee
Big Red kept 3-star Ashland-Greenwood IOL Barrett Kitrell in the Cornhusker State, fending off the rival Iowa Hawkeyes and Tennessee Volunteers. Kitrell could play across the line and is especially effective protecting the run on power, counter, and trap plays. Not coincidentally, those are Matt Rhule's offensive staples.
This battle was one mostly forged in the Midwest between the Heroes Game rivals, with Iowa offensive line coach George Barnett making a serious case for Kitrell. Still, the Vols were linked to this two-team battle by most recruiting sites, so they get the obligatory mention.
4-star LB down to Clemson, Georgia, and Kentucky in recruiting decision
4-star Warren Central (IN) EDGE/OLB Sean Fox has named his final three schools for his decision: the Clemson Tigers, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Kentucky Wildcats. UK, the closest geographically of the three, has a crystal ball to land Fox when he makes his decision on Thursday, June 25.
Fox could join 3-star Anderson (OH) prospect Antwoine Higgins and 3-star Princeton (OH) prospect Jaylen Mercer along the edge in the 2027 season and beyond. Wildcats head coach Will Stein and edge rushers coach Tony Washington Jr. look poised to finish the job in the next few days.
5-star CB down to Auburn, Michigan, South Carolina, and Texas A&M
5-star Hough (NC) ATH Joshua Dobson is down to Auburn, the Michigan Wolverines, the South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Texas A&M Aggies. Dobson is set to announce his commitment on July 1st during the Rivals Summer Signing Day Show. There are currently no crystal balls anywhere, though the Tigers are probably a long shot here.
Texas A&M has been on a tear on the trail and owns the No. 1 class in 2027. The Aggies could be the presumptive favorite here, though the Gamecocks own the sentimental edge close to his home state of North Carolina. Meanwhile, Kyle Whittingham has a strong track record for developing defensive backs as he arrives for his first season in Ann Arbor. This is shaping up to be an intriguing battle for the Cornelius-area blue-chip.
