Over the weekend, Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football program hosted a big group of recruits on campus for official visits. One of those visitors was 5-star edge rusher Trenton Henderson.

A product of Pensacola Catholic High School in Florida, Henderson is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 4 edge rusher in the recruiting class of 2026 and the No. 5 recruit out of the Sunshine State. He is the No. 28 overall recruit in his class.

His official visit to the Plains over the weekend was not Henderson's first trip to campus, and he has already built up a strong relationship with his would-be position coach, Outside Linebackers Coach Roc Bellantoni.

“I think really highly of coach Roc since he has recruited me since he was at FAU,” said Henderson, per Auburn Rivals. “It means a lot that when he came here he was pushing hard for me too. I have known him since my sophomore year.”

The edge rusher has several more official visits planned, but Auburn football got the first crack at the elite prospect. Following his trip to the Plains, Henderson will officially visit LSU on May 30, Michigan on June 6, Florida on June 13, USC on June 20, and finish up with Florida State for their first game weekend in August.

Henderson plans to make his final decision later this year in November, and is focused on finding a program that can help him advance his career both during and after football.

“Just a place that can develop me and help me get to the next level,” said Henderson of what he’s looking for in a school. “Then just a school that has a good life after football. Just somewhere I can see myself thriving and becoming a better man. Just where I fit and I’m comfortable.”
