Over the weekend, the Auburn football program put on a big recruiting event and hosted prospects from all over the country. Some of the top prospects in the nation didn't have to travel very far to check out campus, though. 5-star running back Ezavier Crowell, one of the top RBs in the country, hails from Jackson, Alabama, less than four hours away from the Plains.

Crowell's weekend visit was his second this year, and he had the opportunity to view the Tigers' scrimmage during practice on Saturday and sit down with many of the coaches, who have emphasized to the running back that he would be a great fit with Auburn football.

"Coach (Derrick) Nix, Coach (Hugh) Freeze, Grant (Miller), his assistant, just been talking about just coming here and getting here," Crowell said, per Auburn Rivals. "They say I'd be a good fit here, so I'm just going to see when OV’s come up."

And after learning more about the offense from running backs coach Derrick Nix and seeing QB Deuce Knight in action, Crowell is starting to agree.

"My fit would be good here because, like Coach Nix said, I run offensive, so he likes to use the backs," Crowell said. "Just excited to see the process there. He makes them. Just the relationship we keep building."

As the No. 2 running back in the recruiting class of 2026 and the No. 3 player out of the state of Alabama, Crowell is getting attention from multiple schools. He has set official visits to Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, and Texas, and will be on the Plains for an official visit with the Tigers on the weekend of June 13.

So far, Crowell does not have a projected commitment date and says that there is no leader in his recruitment at the moment.
