In the Seattle Seahawks' cornerback room, two former Auburn Tigers could be set to beat out a Nick Saban-era Alabama player for a roster spot. According to Field Gulls' Mookie Alexander, Nehemiah Pritchett and Noah Igbinoghene are in a good position to make the Seahawks' roster even after the team signed Terrion Arnold.
Arnold was recently signed despite pending armed robbery and kidnapping charges in the state of Florida. Arnold was arrested in June while in Tampa and faces eight felony charges. The Detroit Lions released Arnold immediately afterwards.
"(Igbinoghene) had Marquez Valdes-Scantling locked down on a deep shot in the opening quarter, as well as a pressure on a blitz that forced Sam Howell into a bad third-down throw. I think he’s in good position to make the 53 alongside Nehemiah Pritchett. Terrion Arnold’s addition will make things even more interesting in the cornerback room," Alexander wrote.
Truthfully, Arnold's legal troubles will probably be too much for the defending Super Bowl champions to deal with. It's shocking on some level that Coach Mike Macdonald even entertained signing Arnold amidst his issues.
Regardless, it looks like Pritchett is set to reprise his role as a reserve CB and a more regular special teams contributor in Seattle for a third season. Igbinoghene signed a one-year, $1.81 million contract in the offseason and should stick with his fourth team since being drafted in 2020.

Nehemiah Pritchett carving out a role on the Seahawks
McDonald recently spoke to Pritchett's performance during training camp, sounding convinced that Pritchett is deserving of a bigger role on the Seahawks this coming season.
"He's really competing and really excited for the opportunity he has," Macdonald said. "He's making the most of it. He's making a heck of a case for carving himself a role."
Pritchett has had 26 tackles and three pass deflections thus far through the first two years of his NFL career. Of course, stats don't tell the story of corners. Still, Pritchett averaged over five PDs per season on the Plains. He could be disruptive in man coverage if given a true chance.
Mike Macdonald sounds bullish on Noah Igbinoghene as well
McDonald also recently shared that he's been impressed with Igbinoghene this summer, saying, "Both those two guys you mentioned (Pritchett and Noah Igbinoghene) are having really good camps, and they're definitely putting their best foot forward."
Igbinoghene last impressed in 2024 with the Washington Commanders, but his 2025 season tanked his value in free agency. That Igbinoghene was signed with plenty of time to integrate him, and not picked up right before the preseason, like Arnold, bodes well for his future.
With former Tigers EDGE Derick Hall also on the Seahawks, having re-signed with Seattle this offseason on a three-year deal worth $42 million, with $21 million guaranteed and the ability to reach up to $46.5 million with incentives, there should be a significant Auburn presence on the reigning champs this fall.
