The Georgia Bulldogs have given a raise to defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann and Broyles Award finalist, offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, this offseason after yet another SEC Championship season, and early CFP elimination, for the Dawgs.

Per The Athens Banner-Herald, "Bobo’s total annual pay rose from $1.503 million last year to $2.2 million, effective Jan. 15, according to figures obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald on Thursday, Feb. 26, through an open records request. Bobo’s salary was set to rise to $1.603 million on July 1 under a contract that ran through the end of the 2026 season. He signed an extension before the 2024 season, but any changes to his contract length were not included Thursday. Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann’s total pay also is going up. He made $2.003 million last year and that is rising to $2.2 million, putting Bobo and Schumann at equal pay. Schumann’s pay was set to rise to $2.103 million on July 1 in a contract that runs through after the 2027 season."

UGA just reinvested in coordinators who've won big games, but haven't won the big one yet. That's not to say they're not championship coaches, since both won in different roles with the Dawgs in 2022, and Schumann was there for the 2021 title too.

Of course, Auburn Tigers fans will never see Bobo in any light other than a low one for his one failure-filled season on the Plains. Bobo helped Auburn blow a 28-3 lead to the Mississippi State Bulldogs and botched a game-winning chance on the infamous goal-line fade to Kobe Hudson from Bo Nix on 4th and 2 in a 28-20 loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions in Happy Valley.

Mike Bobo recently caught smoke for Carson Beck's success at Miami

Bobo and Kirby Smart caught some flak from Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal for Carson Beck having much more success with the CFP runner-ups than he had with the Dawgs in 2023 and 2024.

“…to watch what a player like Carson Beck can do with great coaching ... If it wasn’t for all his years of pre-NIL, we wouldn’t have NIL right now," Cristobal said at the 2026 Steve Spurrier Awards.

Cristobal was seemingly having some fun, since he should know Beck and UGA would've been a surefire CFP team in a 12-team field back in 2023 and Beck didn't even play during the Dawgs' 2024 run.

Still, a little offseason drama, even if it's probably not filled with any real heat, is always refreshing.
