It’s bout that tiiiiiime–time for another player announcement from Team War Ready. The official Auburn basketball alumni team posted that the fifth player has joined the roster in Kareem Canty.

The 6’1″ 180-pound guard from Harlem, New York played one season of Auburn basketball after redshirting his sophomore season on The Plains following his transfer from Marshall. In the 2015-2016 season, Canty ranked in the Top 10 in the SEC in seven different categories including points per game, three-pointers per game, and assists per game.

Most recently Canty played for the Norrkoping Dolphins in the Sweeden-Basketligan league. He averaged 15.7 points and four assists in the 2019-2020 season. This will not be Canty’s first time in the TBT tournament and Team War Ready cites Canty as a big impact on the 2021 team.

Team War Ready said in a later tweet it would be the last player announcement for a while in order to bring on more hype closer to the tournament, but one fan pointed out that this could mean no more player announcements until the end of the NBA G-League season.

If this means that there are guys on the roster who are also currently playing in the G-League, we’re more than happy to wait for the player announcements.

Auburn basketball fans were notably excited to have another TBT vet on the team, and one that is pretty talented, too:

At any rate, Kareem Canty has got Auburn basketball fans excited, and the War Ready roster continues to be built for the purpose of making noise in TBT 2021.
