College football season is right around the corner, and soon Auburn football fans from far and wide will be filling Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturdays. As the 2021 season draws closer, players are added to award watch lists and pre-season odds are released.

As posted by Cole Cubelic on Twitter, BetOnline.ag recently updated Heisman Trophy winner odds and placed UGA quarterback JT Daniels at the top of the list with 5/1 odds. Following Daniels are Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler at 7/1 and Alabama’s Bryce Young at 10/1.

The Dawgs have not had a Heisman Trophy winner since Herschel Walker won following the 1981 season, and JT Daniels’ frontrunner status comes as somewhat of a surprise with Spencer Rattler and Sam Howell to compete with.

UGA played several different quarterbacks last season, and Daniels started in only four matchups. Both Rattler and Howell are coming off seasons spent as QB1 for their teams. College football fans had a lot of opinions when it came to this list, and many took to Twitter to laugh about the fake hype that is built up around Georgia prior to every season:

As Auburn football fans, we’re going to be going with Bo Nix as the dark horse to win the 2021 Heisman Trophy. After all, this could be the year.
