The Auburn football team has a chance to win in Death Valley this Saturday for the first time since 1999, but LSU will not go down without a fight. Auburn will enter their week 5 matchup as the underdog as they prepare to play in one of the country’s toughest stadiums.

LSU’s defense leads the nation in sacks with 18 recorded already this season, and their current record is 3-1 with their only loss to UCLA in the season opener. Most recently, they kicked off conference play with a tight 28-25 win over Mississippi State.

Auburn football’s main advantage over the Bayou Bengals this week is that head coach Bryan Harsin has yet to name a starting quarterback between Bo Nix and LSU Transfer TJ Finley. Coach O is having to prepare his team for a QB they’ve both beaten and lost to in Bo Nix, or a QB that used to wear purple and gold.

While we don’t know who to expect as Auburn football’s QB1 this weekend, here are five key LSU players to know from Ed Orgeron’s roster.

Key Player #1: Derek Stingley Jr.

LSU’s most talented cornerback will not be appearing in the game this weekend against Auburn, but this is still important for Bryan Harsin’s tigers. Why? Because this means one less challenge for the receivers to deal with.

The receivers have been struggling mightily this season for Auburn football, combining for no less than nine drops so far. Stingley reaggravated a foot injury prior to the Mississippi State game and is expected to miss the Auburn game as well, providing a huge break for the Auburn receivers.

Instead, Eric Kiseau’s new position group can expect to go up against Dwight McGlothern and Eli Ricks at the cornerback position.
