Auburn football’s first-year head coach Bryan Harsin is doing remarkably well in his first season coaching in the SEC, but just as important as the current team is the future recruiting classes that the coaching staff is working to sign.

With 13 commits and the second-to-last rank in the SEC, each and every commit to the recruiting class of 2022 is significant for Auburn football and Bryan Harsin. After all, we’ve essentially only seen him coach the remnants of Gus Malzahn’s former team. Imagine the progress once Harsin has signed his own recruits.

One of those potential recruits is the son of former NFL great Rodney Harrison, defensive back Christian Harrison out of Atlanta, Georgia. The Woodward Academy product is not yet ranked on the 247Sports website, but committed in July to Hugh Freeze’s program at Liberty.

However, just last night the DB de-committed from Liberty, announcing that his recruitment was 100 percent open. And the next thing on his agenda? A visit to the Plains for Auburn football’s ranked matchup versus the Ole Miss Rebels on October 30.

According to SI All-American, Harrison has taken multiple visits to Tennessee and has offers from not only the Vols but also Georgia Tech, West Virginia, and Kansas State. Other schools are involved, but have yet to offer:

"The schools mentioned are obviously active and involved with Harrison, but others that have yet to offer, including Auburn, Lousiville, Missouri, and Washington, have expressed interest, and offers could be on the horizon with each."

After Harrison’s unofficial visit to what is sure to be an electric night-game atmosphere in Jordan-Hare Stadium, he will take an official visit to Rocky Top. Kieth Niebuhr reports that Harrison is being recruited at safety by some schools, but others prefer him at the cornerback position, and it’s too soon to tell what position he would play for the Tigers.

Though the Vols are currently on top for Harrison, a huge night game on the Plains could convince him that orange and blue are superior to orange and white.
