Auburn football has entered the mix for another top receiver in the recruiting class of 2023, but the Tigers’ coaching staff is going to have to battle hard to get this highly-coveted wide receiver to the Plains.

This past Thursday, newly-hired wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard extended an offer to 4-star Bryson Rodgers, a native of Zephyrhills, Florida. According to 247Sports, Rodgers is ranked as the #308 recruit and the #40 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #61 prospect out of the state of Florida.

While Auburn football becomes Rodgers’ most recent offer, the Tigers join a long list of top programs from around the country including Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, and in-state favorites Florida and Florida State.

Eleven Warriors reports that although Rodgers lives in Florida, he grew up in Ohio as an Ohio State football fan. Earlier this week, he took an unofficial visit to Columbus to attend the Buckeyes’ first spring practice and tour the facilities:

"“I loved it,” Rodgers told Eleven Warriors of his visit. “There’s a great culture there and a brotherhood-like atmosphere. In the practice I watched in the morning, coach Hartline was out there getting intense with the guys. He was really involved with every wide receiver, it was good to see.”"

Rodgers called Ohio State a “dream school” and notes that they’re currently at the top of his list, but with a planned commitment sometime in July, Auburn football definitely has time to make an impression on the talented wideout.

Unfortunately, the Tigers will have to battle hard with the Crimson Tide in order to land Rodgers, who has taken multiple visits to Tuscaloosa and formed a strong relationship with Nick Saban. However, with another Alabama visit likely on the horizon for Rodgers, it shouldn’t be a huge challenge to get him down on the Plains.
