While the Auburn football coaching staff has been diligently mining the NCAA transfer portal for extra talent for the 2022 roster, they are not finished yet. After adding several transfers before spring training and then a couple more afterward, the Tigers are still looking for more depth.

One of the position groups most in need ahead of the 2022 season is still the wide receivers group. Newly hired WR coach Ike Hilliard is working to put the group in a good position and has already added former Miami WR Dazalin Worsham to the roster.

Now, there are still several good options for the Tigers in the transfer portal, including two receivers with plenty of SEC experience. Auburn football may be interested in pursuing them.

The first is former LSU wide receiver Koy Moore. According to Auburn Undercover, Moore was the first player to leave the team following the departure of Ed Orgeron, and he was originally supposed to visit the Plains back in March before his recruitment died down, but there is still interest from the Tigers.

Moore played two seasons for Ed Orgeron’s Tigers, and had an impressive freshman debut with 22 catches for 177 yards before suffering an injury prior to 2021 and playing only six games with five catches last year.

The next transfer Auburn football could pursue is former Alabama wide receiver Javon Baker, who was previously committed to Kentucky after entering the transfer portal. The Wildcats then released Baker, who is now being studied by the Tigers’ coaching staff. Baker played for the Tide for two seasons, totaling nine catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns over his career.

Both receivers would be an excellent addition to the wide receivers room because of their valuable experience. While the Tigers currently have several promising receivers already, there is a worrying lack of experience among the wideouts.
