After being heavily criticized last season during his first year on the Plains, Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin put together an almost-completely new coaching staff for 2022, adding new position coaches and coordinators across the board.

The staff have worked hard to improve upon the current roster and also ramp up their recruiting efforts after a somewhat disappointing recruiting class of 2022, and so far, they have been successful in the offseason and players have spoken highly of the new coaches.

They are also having an impact on recruiting as they bring with them to the Plains relationships they built with these kids while holding positions at other programs. One of those coaches is Roc Bellantoni, who oversees the edge rushers for the Tigers.

His strong relationship with 4-star edge Reuben Bain is keeping Auburn football squarely in the mix for his commitment, as well as the communication from head coach Bryan Harsin, per Auburn Undercover:

"“They reach out to me and try and communicate as much as anybody,” Bain said. “If it’s not every day, it‘s the next day. That definitely sticks out. Coach Harsin, he reaches out like he’s my position coach and recruiter.”"

Not only does the coaching staff stand out to Bain, but also the opportunity to earn early playing time as the Tigers will be in immediate need for edge rushers following the 2022 season:

"“Coach Roc was actually talking to me about it,” Bain said. “Said I have the size and athleticism and ability to play as of right now. He’s not guaranteeing anything, but he’s definitely telling me I have a chance of earning that spot. I’m really loving that.”"

Bain visited the Plains earlier this spring, but will return to campus this weekend for an official visit, and plans to make a commitment decision sometime in the fall.
