Auburn football will be getting back a transfer portal entry whose initial departure had many wondering what could have been if things were different.

Landen King, a six-foot-five, 220-pound tight-end recruit out of Humble, Texas, will be withdrawing his name from the portal after announcing his intent to transfer just ahead of Bryan Harsin’s firing on October 31.

It was initially reported that Harsin’s successor would have a chance to bring back King and the slew of other transfers in his final week as head coach, though it’s unclear if interim Auburn football head coach Carnell “Cadillac” Williams was the inspiration to bring King back or if it was a potential full-time replacement.

Lane Kiffin tabbed to be the next Auburn football head coach; Kiffin denies rumor

WCBINEWS Sports Director Jon Sokoloff broke the internet last night when he announced that Lane Kiffin was all set to be the next Auburn football head coach — this just days before Ole Miss meets Mississippi State in the Iron Bowl.

As it turns out, though, Lane Kiffin was not a fan of that news leak/misinformation:

So where do we sit at the moment regarding the Kiffin-to-AU rumors? Well, at the mercy of Lane Kiffin.

On November 22, Kiffin reportedly held a team meeting and failed to confirm to his Rebels players whether or not he was leaving them for the Plains. If they don’t know, we won’t either until the head coach is ready to tell the world.
