With Bryan Harsin as the head coach of the Auburn football program, the Tigers had already found their class of 2024 quarterback in Adrian Posse. Since Hugh Freeze was hired to take over the program, Posse has decommitted, leaving an opening for Freeze to recruit his own quarterback.
Arguably the top quarterback target on the Tigers’ list in the recruiting class of 2024, Walker White is planning to make his commitment decision today around 2:00pm central time. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, the 4-star athlete is ranked as the #92 overall prospect and the #8 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2024, and is the #1 prospect out of the state of Arkansas.
White has over 20 offers from a bunch of top schools, including Ole Miss, Clemson, Alabama, Florida, and more. The quarterback has reportedly narrowed down his choices to a top three, and will choose between Clemson, Baylor, and Auburn football this afternoon.
White previously visited Auburn’s campus on January 16 and was able to get to know head coach Hugh Freeze and offensive coordinator Phillip Montgomery. According to Auburn Live’s Keith Niebuhr, faith is important to the young quarterback, and he was able to relate well to Freeze, who is very outspoken about his own faith.
Most of the recruiting prediction sites, including both the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, have forecasted Dabo Swinney’s Clemson Tigers as the program that will earn Walker White’s commitment, but there is a real chance for Auburn since being named one of the QB’s three finalists.
White will make his official decision this afternoon at 2:00pm central time from his high school in Arkansas, and you can watch the announcement at THIS LINK.
