The Auburn football program is most definitely on an upward trajectory after the hiring of head coach Hugh Freeze, but we can’t forget the place last two seasons have put the Tigers in. Struggles in nearly all aspects of the program have not made things easy for Auburn’s comeback, but Freeze is putting the team on the right track.

One of the biggest things Freeze did upon hiring was jump immediately into the world of recruiting. He was able to flip several prospects that weren’t ready to commit to the Tigers under Bryan Harsin and secure multiple strong transfers for the 2023 season.

Now, with spring practice under way on the Plains, the coaching staff is getting the chance to really evaluate their players, both old and new, including a couple of early enrollees from the recruiting class of 2024.

Defensive end Keldric Faulk, out of Highland Home, AL, flipped from Florida State to Auburn on Early National Signing Day, and ended up being the most highly-ranked recruit on the Tigers’ roster. He is one of the top-10 players out of the state of Alabama, and was a major pickup for the brand new staff.

After a couple of spring practices over the last month, Freeze already thinks very highly of the true freshman and sees a bright future for him, per AL.com:

"On Keldric Faulk’s progression: “I think he’s going to be a phenomenal player, and I think he’s going to have to play early.”"

Faulk will play for Auburn football as #15, and he is getting a lot of reps during the spring for a true freshman. He has been playing with the jack linebackers alongside senior transfer Elijah McAllister and sophomore Dylan Brooks, to name a few.

Although this may not be the year that we see the Auburn Tigers roaring back to the forefront of the SEC, the young talent on this team spells a bright future for the years to come.
