Was it the Buc-ees recruiting graphic or the work of the Auburn football coaching staff? We may never know, but either way, the Tigers are getting ready to host a 5-star offensive lineman on campus this summer for an official visit.
Jameson Riggs, who is ranked as the #22 offensive tackle and the #35 recruit out of the state of Georgia, will officially visit the Plains on June 16.
The OT narrowed his list down to 10 back in June, naming Auburn football, LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Penn State, USC, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt as his top schools.
Riggs has also set two other official visits, one to Clemson on June 2 and one to Georgia Tech on June 9. He has unofficially visited plenty of schools, including Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Duke, and Florida.
According to his 247 Sports Recruiting timeline, Riggs has been on the Plains three times before, once for the Tigers’ disastrous game versus Penn State, once on January 16, and once on March 17. Coincidentally, class of 2024 QB commit Walker White was present during at least one of the visits, and clearly has a hand in Riggs’ recruitment along with offensive line coach Jake Thornton:
Although Clemson has been considered the favorite for some time, it’s possible that Riggs will follow in White’s footsteps and surprise everyone by choosing Auburn football over the ACC Tigers. Be on the lookout for more scheduled official visits for Jameson Riggs.
