Last year, the Auburn basketball team had a historic season. Staying ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll for weeks, beating Alabama in a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup, winning in Rupp Arena for the first time in 40 years and making it to the Final Four for the second time in six years are just a few of the highlights.
But all good things must come to an end, and for Auburn basketball, it was truly an ending. Rising sophomore Tahaad Pettiford is the only member of last year's squad returning for the 2025-26 season, so rather than beginning a new chapter, it's almost like the Tigers are starting a whole new book.
Today, the SEC released the conference schedule for the 2025-26 season, which will begin for Auburn on the road against Georgia on January 3. The Tigers will play 18 conference games from January to March, and will host their first conference opponent, Texas A&M, in Neville Arena on January 6 or 7.
Last year's home-and-home opponents were Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama, but this year, Georgia has been swapped with Arkansas. Just like last year, the Tigers will end their season in an Iron Bowl matchup with Alabama.
