For the third time in the last four seasons, the Auburn baseball team will host an NCAA regional on the Plains. On Monday morning it was announced that the Tigers would be seeded No. 4 in the tournament, placing them in the top-8 national seeds for the first time since 2003 and the second time in program history. It's the first time the Tigers have accomplished this under Head Coach Butch Thompson.

Though their record looks a little different than some of the other top-seeded teams, the Auburn baseball team ended their season with the fourth-most quad 1 wins and had the No. 1 strength of schedule in the entire country. The Tigers had 16 quad 1 wins behind Ole Miss, Texas, and Vanderbilt.

The Auburn Regional is paired with the Conway (Coastal Carolina) Regional for the Super Regional round. If the Tigers advance to a super regional in Plainsman Park it would be the first time in program history. They faced five of the other top 8 national seeds during the regular season. They played series against Vanderbilt, Texas, LSU, and Georgia, and a single game against Oregon State in the Lone Star State Showdown in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field.
